What
You Need To Know In These Tough Times
By
Mark Romero
Throughout
our lives we encounter various times of
challenge and uncertainty.
We
are witnessing this on a macro level today
in our economy.
What
does it all mean and how can we move forward
in a positive direction with momentum
and optimism? It is possible... let me
explain...
Think
of a Hermit Crab - it's really a great
metaphor. Like the crab, we have a shell.
The shell represents our current view
of the world and the paradigms in which
we run our lives.
Because
growth, change and expansion are a constant
in life, like the crab we grow throughout
our lives and eventually our shell or
view of the world will become uncomfortable.
Challenges,
obstacles and struggles are inevitable
- and we can either stay stuck in our
frustration or look for an alternative
and move beyond our perceived
limitations.
Like
the crab, we must look for a new shell
or a new outlook on life.
The
current struggles we are facing are signs
that the current paradigm we have been
living in has become limited. Our current
way of being is no longer working.
The
simple fact is that it is time to leave
the old shell and find a new one. This
can be a scary time. Like the crab, we
become vulnerable while moving from one
shell to the other.
Most
of us struggle with this process of change.
We are resistant to the process of growth
and will usually fight tooth and nail.
That is until the pain of staying the
same becomes greater than the fear of
change.
When
you think about it, it's actually pretty
liberating - we are not powerless. We
just need to learn how to harness our
own power! What would open up for you
if you were able to go with the flow of
change (and stop fighting the inevitable)?
What
ways could you benefit if you were to
commit yourself to expanding your horizons
and realize that the last frontier is
the frontier of your own thoughts and
perceptions?
Because
of this whole process we have the opportunity
to fully participate in the game of life.
As we move through our experiences, we
will constantly be faced with scenarios
forcing us to expand our horizons and
to evolve.
Like
the Hermit Crab we will outgrow our shell
and through these challenges we will evolve
and take measures to change.
